Fish Passage

The Tulalip Tribes' TFW program is active in the design, review, management, and implementation of many fish passage projects across the across the Tribes’ Usual and Accustomed Areas. As a result of the recent US vs Washington Culvert Case ruling, Tulalip is engaged with the state and county agencies in the requirements of the federal injunction. Our expertise, reviews, and comments have overwhelmingly influenced which stream crossing infrastructure requires replacement to allow fish passage, and which crossings are prioritized. We provide comments and offer adaptive design management concepts regarding the most appropriate designs to provide fish passage at all flows for all fish species at all life stages.
