The Tulalip Wildlife Program funds and implements a number of habitat enhancement projects, on and off the reservation, directed at creating and maintaining forage meadows for game species, such as deer and elk. The plots of degraded forest, meadow, and farmland that we enhance are plowed, reseeded, sprayed, burned, and replanted. The Wildlife Program partners with Tulalip’s Timber Fish and Wildlife Program and the United States Forest Service, as well as other tribes to develop effective strategies to improve and maintain grazing opportunities for elk and other game species in the Skagit, Skykomish, and White River valleys.
