Tulalip Tribes’ TFW has been involved in research and management decisions along the Tolt River, an important tributary to the Snoqualmie River. Tulalip staff assisted Seattle City Light (and other members of the Tolt Fish Advisory Committee) on the installation of over 300 full-length trees placed along approximately 6 miles of the South Fork Tolt River. These jams were strategically placed using helicopters to facilitate reach-level geomorphic change along the river corridor. These complexes will create habitat complexity important to salmon and steelhead spawning and rearing success.
